As a Hands-on Principal Engineer, you'll help design, build, and scale an intelligent cloud security product from the ground up. You'll work across both backend (Go) and frontend (React/TypeScript), with a strong focus on AWS cloud infrastructure, microservices, and secure system design.
What You'll Do
- Develop and scale backend services (Go is a plus, but any enterprise grade BE work is ok).
- Work across a modern AWS stack (ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform) ensuring resilience, scalability, and security
- Design clean, efficient APIs (REST and gRPC)
- Manage infrastructure and deployment pipelines (CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Docker)
- Collaborate closely with product, data, and design teams in a highly autonomous, agile environment
- Identify and solve performance bottlenecks, ensuring a seamless experience for customers
- Strong backend engineering experience in Go (Golang)
- Deep experience with AWS services - ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, etc.
- Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD
- Familiarity with Postgres, NoSQL, and event-driven systems
- Bonus: Experience in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, or early-stage start-ups
- 6-12 month contract with the opportunity to transition to perm or continue extending
- Highly competitive daily rate
- Must be Sydney based
