This is a hands-on backend engineering role where you'll be building and enhancing microservices, integrating with AWS, and contributing to a high-performing engineering team delivering business-critical projects.
Contract Details
- Start Date: 8 December
- Duration: 3 months (approx. 60 working days)
- Rate: Up to $800-$850/day
- Holiday break: No work required between 22 Dec - 2 Jan
- Remote within Australia
- Developing backend services using Node.js
- Building cloud-native solutions across AWS (Lambda, S3, ECS, ECR, EventBridge, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, AppFlow)
- Working with event-driven and message-driven architectures
- Building and integrating REST APIs
- Containerisation and deployment via Docker / ECS
- Implementing robust logging, monitoring and troubleshooting using Splunk
- Collaborating with engineering teams to deliver fast, secure and scalable services
We're looking for someone with strong commercial experience in:
- Node.js (primary focus - approx. 70% of the role)
- AWS Cloud Services
- Docker / containerisation
- RabbitMQ or similar message brokers
- Event-driven microservices
- REST APIs
- Logging/monitoring tools ( Splunk )
- Strong communication and ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment
- Well-scoped 3-month engagement — great for contractors between longer gigs
- Work with modern, cloud-first architecture
- High-impact work inside a technically strong environment
