Are you a proactive risk professional ready to step into a strategic and hands-on role? SustainRecruit have partnered with a large insurer, seeking a Risk Manager to play a key role in delivering risk management and regulatory change initiatives.

This is a broad and rewarding opportunity where you’ll support the implementation of the Risk Management Framework, lead regulatory change assessments, and partner with stakeholders across the business to build a strong risk-aware culture. You’ll help ensure the business is well-positioned to manage both current and emerging risks, while enhancing compliance and governance practices.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Support the effective implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) across all business areas, with a focus on operational and regulatory risk.
  • Lead the identification and assessment of upcoming legislative and regulatory changes, ensuring timely integration into business processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to uplift controls, improve risk reporting, and embed risk thinking into day-to-day operations.
  • Contribute to second-line assurance activities and deliver risk insights to senior leaders and governance forums.
  • Monitor external developments to identify emerging risks and provide practical risk-based guidance.
  • Maintain positive relationships with key regulators and assist in the delivery of regulatory reporting and declarations.
  • Support the uplift of risk systems and tools to drive better oversight, data insights, and decision-making.


About You
  • 5+ years' experience in risk management or compliance within the insurance or broader financial services sector.
  • Solid understanding of APRA and ASIC requirements, particularly CPS 220 and Life Code legislation.
  • Practical experience in implementing and maintaining enterprise risk and compliance programs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced regulatory environment.
