We’re working with a well-known Australian brand to find an experienced and commercially minded Risk Manager to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a business-facing Line 2 role that spans a broad and fast-paced operational portfolio within the gaming sector.

This role will suit someone who is comfortable navigating the complexities of a highly regulated industry, with a strong focus on customer-facing operations. You'll be helping teams on the ground understand how risk management applies to their day-to-day decisions.

You’ll work closely with executive leaders and operational teams to bring risk to life in a way that’s practical, people-first, and aligned to the commercial realities of a fast-moving sector.
 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead risk management across a key operational portfolio, partnering with senior leaders and frontline staff to identify and manage risks in a highly regulated environment.

  • Facilitate risk workshops, support control uplift initiatives, and embed a proactive risk culture at all levels of the business.

  • Provide actionable insights through clear, business-friendly reporting for executive and board stakeholders.

  • Support the ongoing development of enterprise risk, compliance, and assurance frameworks as part of a collaborative Line 2 team.

  • Act as a coach and enabler, helping employees in operational roles apply risk and compliance practices in ways that are relevant and easy to understand.

  • Build trusted relationships across the organisation, balancing commercial pragmatism with sound risk advice.

  • Drive continuous improvement in how risk is understood and managed in one of Australia’s most highly regulated industries.
     

What We’re Looking For:

  • Signifcant Line 2 risk and compliance experience, within a highly regulated sector  

  • A deep understanding of risk and control fundamentals, business processes and assurance methods.

  • Confidence working with internal stakeholders of all levels – from executive leaders to frontline employees.

  • Experience operating in a regulated sector such as gaming or liquor is highly regarded, from either an in-house or consulting environment.

  • An approachable, practical communicator who can simplify complex concepts and influence behaviours.

  • Strong written skills, with the ability to prepare clear and compelling board and executive reports.

  • A continuous improvement mindset and interest in driving cultural uplift and capability building.
