Senior Frontend Engineer – High-Growth Tech Business

They’re investing heavily in their technology function and looking to bring on a Senior Frontend Engineer who can shape the direction of their platform and play a pivotal role in the team’s growth.

Responsibilities:
- Taking the lead in building and evolving modern web applications that are clean, scalable, and easy to maintain.
- Making smart architectural decisions around frameworks, tools, and libraries to ensure the frontend is future-proof.
- Improving performance and user experience by identifying bottlenecks and fine-tuning everything from caching strategies to state management.
- Acting as a go-to technical leader within the squad – running code reviews, setting engineering standards, and supporting more junior team members.
- Working hand-in-hand with design and product teams to deliver interfaces that are intuitive, accessible, and high-quality.
- Keeping on top of emerging technologies and championing best practices to keep the team sharp and the product ahead of the curve.
- Solid background in frontend engineering (5+ years commercial, 10+ years overall in tech).
- Expert-level knowledge of React, Next, TypeScript JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong track record of architecting complex frontend systems and integrating with APIs using GraphQL.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services and DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker).
- Deep understanding of performance tuning, accessibility, and testing best practices.
- Experience with component-driven development and micro-frontend approaches.
- Excellent communicator with proven experience in agile, cross-functional teams.
- A natural mentor who enjoys supporting others and raising the bar technically.
- Exposure with progressive web apps.
- Worked with design systems or built component libraries.
- Experience in WebAssembly, WebSockets, or other cutting-edge browser technologies.
- 4 days a week in their office in the Sydney CBD
- Salary: $150-$170K + Super + ESOP
